Photovoltaic Solar Panels (PV)

Solar Energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable energy source available with the potential to be a game changer in energy costs for your business. In Q1 of 2018 alone, the US installed 2.5 gigawatts (GW) of solar photovoltaic capacity (PV) to reach a total of 55.9 GW – enough to power 10.7 million American homes. This is a 13% increase year-over-year and the market is expected to double in the next five years and by 2023 is expected to be installing more than 14 GW of solar annually.

What does this mean for your company?

It means that your business can be generating clean, reliable solar energy to use for electricity generation, load shedding, or to sell back to the grid when you don’t need it. When you factor in a 30% federal corporate tax credit through the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018, numerous utility and local government incentives, and equipment with warranties of up to 25 years, you have a system with industry leading payback periods of as low as 5 years.

Primary Offerings

Through our relationship with industry leader, Telamon, Innovation Energy is proud to offer a power generation option to couple with our energy efficiency offerings. Telamon has years of experience in the industry and the knowledge, experience, and qualifications to help deliver the best balance of cost and efficiency for your individual project. With projects ranging from small churches to the world’s largest airport based solar array (17.5MW system recently completed at the Indianapolis International Airport), they have the expertise to assist with a project of nearly any size. Coupled with our local installation partners, we are able to offer a full turnkey solution including:

Panels

Standard PV panels with 18.5% cell efficiency and a full 10-year product warranty, PV panels have advanced in leaps and bounds over the past decade. Durable PV modules, independently tested for harsh environmental conditions, including exposure to salt mist, ammonia, and known Potential Induced Degradation (PID) risk factors are made of high-transmission glass featuring a unique anti-reflective coating that directs more light onto the solar cells, resulting in a higher energy yield. Available in multiple sizes and efficiencies to best match your project, most options also include a 25-year linear warranty to guarantee levels of efficiency throughout the life of your project. Properly installed and maintained, solar panels have an anticipated lifetime of 25-40 years, making this an investment that will provide decades of returns long after the end of the payback period.

Inverters

Available for PV installations up to 30 kilowatts, three-phase PV inverters are critical for decentralized commercial PV systems. These transformerless inverters are UL listed for up to 1000 V DC maximum system voltage and has a peak efficiency above 98 percent. The system includes a complete grid management feature set with integrated Speedwire, WebConnect, and ModBus Interfaces, bi-directional ethernet communications, and utility-interactive controls for active and reactive power management. For safety, our systems are equipped with all-pole ground fault protection and integrated AFCI with a reverse polarity indicator in combination with the connection unit. Taken together, the design allows for a flexible design and a lower levelize cost of energy for your business.

Communication

We are proud to offer numerous options for viewing the efficiency of your system including integration with your Building Management System (BMS), integration with building analytics software (see Building Analytics page), and standalone systems including Solar Log. Solar Log displays feed-in management and balance, or the times when there was a grid feed and when electricity was purchased from the grid as well. Negative values (red on the above graph) indicate that electricity was purchased from the grid and positive values (yellow) indicate that there was grid feed.
